The Conference Center is located in the village of Będlewo, and includes a neo-gothic palace and a modern hotel, which will house the participants of the conference. The board starts with dinner on Sunday, June 26 and ends with breakfast on Saturday, July 2. You can arrive and leave about noon on these days (lunch will be provided on request), if convenient. For more information about the Conference Center, please visit its website, where you will also find maps and travel instructions: https://www.impan.pl/en/activities/bedlewo-conference-center/about-center English is spoken at the reception desk, which is open 7/24, and may answer your questions at +48 618 135 187. If you plan to bring an accompanying person with you, please email the organizers.
Transport from Poznań
Typically, when going from abroad, you will arrive at Poznań Ławica International Airport. You can also get to Poznań by train, and then you will arrive at Poznań Railway Station. The best way to get to the Conference Center in Będlewo (approximately 30 km away from the airport or the railway station) is to take a taxi.
For participants of the conference, the reception of the Conference Center in Będlewo may arrange for taxi from the airport or the railway station in Poznań free of charge. Local participants may also take train to Mosina and get taxi from there.
If you want the reception to send the taxi, please provide the time of your arrival at Poznań Airport or at Poznań Railway Station in your online registration form (or send an email to the organizers), as well as any further details that may help (e.g. your flight number or your train number). You do not need to enter these data at the time you register, you may update them at any time until June 22. Would you request taxi, you will receive an email before the conference with detailed information on where the taxi driver will wait for you at the airport, or at the railway station. Please also record the above telephone number to the reception deck for the case of delays etc.
Talks and posters
There are two main lecture halls in the conference center, of capacity 60 and 150. Each hall has a blackboard, a computer projector and an overhead projector. The plenary talks will last 35 minutes, followed by 10 minute breaks, will be given in the large lecture hall, and we encourage the speakers to rather use the computer or the overhead projector because of the considerable depth of the large hall. Please notify us if you choose to use the blackboard instead. The short talks will last 20 minutes. Any participant of the conference may present a poster. The poster stands will be available in the reading room near the reception desk from the beginning of the conference.
Excursions
Three excursions will be organized on Wednesday afternoon (June 29). On Monday, the first day of the conference, we will ask you to opt for one of these:
a) Excursion to Poznań, the historical capital of the Wielkopolska province, with a visit to “Lech” Brewery, Poznań Cathedral and the Old Market Square.
b) Trolley trip along old rail track (the participants will propel the trolley themselves) combined with a walk in woods to a lake.
c) Kayak trip on Warta river, weather permitting. Please prepare if you plan to take part.
