Mathematics of Pattern Formation

11.09.2016 -  17.09.2016 | Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Będlewo, Poland

Announcements

The conference is devoted to models and methods of partial and integro-differential equations applied to problems of spatio-temporal patterning. The goal of the meeting is to bring together specialists working on different aspects of the field, including mathematical modeling and applications, analysis of the underlying equations as well as numerical simulation and optimization, in order to exchange ideas and methods and identify challenging problems.

Program of the conference

The focus will be in identifying and understanding of mechanisms of pattern formation, including formation of travelling waves, stationary and dynamical patterns, their evolution and stability, and emergence of singularities. Especially, we will focus on analysis of reaction-diffusion-type models and novel approaches in their analysis and in model reduction. Applications to developmental biology, ecology, and materials science will be presented and discussed.

The workshop "Mathematics of Pattern Formation" will begin on  Sunday, September 11th, 2016 (this is the day of arrivals).

Lectures will start on Monday, morning.

Friday, September 16th, 2016, is the last day of the conference. Lectures will finish by lunch or later.

Saturday, September 17th, 2016, is the day of departures.

The conference place: Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Bedlewo, Poland.
