Dear Friends,

The 11th International Conference on Ordered Statistical Data OSD 2014 is approaching. The meeting will be held at the Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Będlewo, Poland, June 2nd-6th, 2014. The conference website is

We thank all the people who have already registered and paid their conference fees. There are still many others who have not done it yet, but their participation in our meeting is very important for the conference success. If you are planning to come to Będlewo, we would like to ask you for registering. We have extended the date of the regular registration from March 31 to April 15.

We are happy to inform you that we managed to get a significant financial support from the Warsaw Center of Mathematics and Computer Science, Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center, and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Therefore we are able to propose you very low participant costs. The registration fee for the week conference, including the hotel accomodation with all meals in the Będlewo Center, refreshments during the conference, all social events and transportation from Poznań airport or railway station to Będlewo and back, is 180 Euro for regular participants and 150 Euro for students.

To register please visit the conference webpage, click on the “Registration” tab, and fill the “Registration Form”. If you are going to give a talk, please click on the “Abstract” tab for getting instructions how to prepare and submit an abstract of your talk. Note that the deadline for submissions of abstracts is May 1, 2014. You can find the “Transportation Form” there. Filling it, you enable us to arrange efficiently your travels from Poznań to Będlewo and back.

The conference will bring forth recent advances and trends in the mathematical theory of ordered statistical data, including order statistics and their generalizations, censoring schemes, stochastic orders, and their applications in reliability, statistics and lifetime analysis. The scientific program will include plenary lectures, Jarosław Bartoszewicz memorial session and contributed talks. The plenary lectures will be delivered by: Jafar Ahmadi (Ferdowsi University, Iran), Narayanaswamy Balakrishnan (McMaster University, Canada), Udo Kamps (RWTH Aachen University, Germany), Jorge Navarro (University of Murcia, Spain) and Moshe Shaked (University of Arizona, USA). On Tuesday morning, June 3rd, a special session on stochastic orders, dedicated to the memory of Professor Jarosław Bartoszewicz will be organized. Professor Bartoszewicz, a leading expert in the stochastic order theory, was a member of the Scientific Committee of our conference. He passed away in Ferbuary 2013. This memorial session will consist of the plenary lecture of Professor Moshe Shaked followed by a series of invited talks, presented by Abdulhamid Alzaid (King Saud University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Felix Belzunce (Universidad de Murcia, Spain), Baha-Eldin Khaledi (Razi University, Iran) and Peng Zhao (Jiangsu Normal University, China).

The conference venue is the Mathematical Research and Conference Center of the Institute of Mathematics of Polish Academy of Sciences in Będlewo. This is located 26 km southwest from the center of Poznań (2 km from the Poznań - Wrocław route). The Center is situated in a charming spot on the border of the Wielkopolski National Park, among great woods and beautiful lakes. The complex spans 9 hectars, including a strictly preserved forest area. The Center itself is located in two buldings: a neogothic palace built in 1866, and a modern and fully equipped hotel. We cordially invite you to come to Będlewo for OSD 2014. At the beginning of June, there is the nicest time for visiting Poland. The weather is very nice then: days are long and sunny, rains are seldom and warm, and the day temperatures vary between 15° and 25° C.
