2 p.m. – meeting the tour guide and departure for Poznań
Arrival at the Cathedral
Ostrów Tumski (island): the building of Psalmists (Psauteria), Virgin Mary Church, Cathedral with the burial places of the first Polish rulers,(admission fee 4 PLN), remains of the 1st and 2nd Cathedral, a range of chapels, e.g. The Górkis’ Chapel, the Golden Chapel with mortal remains of Mieszko I and Bolesław Chrobry (the Brave), and the Royal Chapel.
Arrival at the Old Market-place vicinity
Stary Rynek (the Old Market-place): the exterior of the Renaissance Town Hall, Proserpina, Mars, Apollo, and Neptun fountains, 16th-century tenement-houses, the pillory, clock goats showing at noon on the Town Hall tower, the Palace of the Górkis, Parish Church – one of the most beautiful baroque temples in Poland, a sculpture of goats on Kolegiacki Square, Saint John Nepomucen monument, a monument of Bamberka (local female inhabitant), municipal balance, guardhouse, the Działyńskis Palace.
Wzgórze Przemysła (Przemysł’s Hill): the Royal Castle, Franciskans’ Church with the image of St. Mary Mighty of Miracles Lady of Poznań, a monument of the 15th Uhlan Regiment.
Arrival at the city centre, sightseeing throught the coach windows
Plac Wolności (Freedom Square): the Bazar Hotel, the Raczyńskis Library, the National Museum, Arcadia.
Plac Mickiewicza (Mickiewicz Square): Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań June 1956 Monument, Adam Mickiewicz Monument, the Imperial Castle.
