The Conference Center in Będlewo is located 26 km from the centre of Poznań. You can fly directly to Poznań Ławica International Airport from many European cities. Alternatively, you can reach Poznań by train from Warsaw or Berlin (approx. 3 hours ride), please consult Polish Railways (PKP) or German Railways (DB) webpages to find connections. For most trains, you can buy a ticket directly through these webpages. Note that most of the trains require seat reservation and they can be crowded, especially in the afternoons, so it is advisable to buy the ticket in advance).
The organizers arrange a conference bus (free of charge) which will take the participants from Poznań railway station (Poznań Główny PKP) to the Conference Center in Będlewo (approx. 40 minutes ride). It will depart on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM (two courses). The starting point is in front of the Poznań Główny railway station on the ground level (Dworcowa St.), some 100-200 meters from the main entrance. The bus will be signed "Conference Będlewo". You can get to Poznań Główny railway station from Poznań Ławica Airport by city bus (line L) (approx. 20-30 minutes ride) or by taxi. After the conference, a conference bus will take the participants from the Conference Center back to Poznań railway station and then to Poznań Ławica Airport.
If you are not going to use the conference bus, the simplest way to get from Poznań to the Conference Center in Będlewo is to take a taxi. In case of any problems, you can call the Conference Center office, phone number (+48) 61 813 51 87 to arrange a taxi to Będlewo at a moderate cost (approx. 30 EUR).
Accomodation and practical information
The conference takes place in the Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Będlewo near Poznań. The Center, which is a facility of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center, is located at the border of the beautiful region of the National Park of Wielkopolska, among forests and lakes. The participants are accommodated in the conference hotel in Będlewo. The meals are served at the Będlewo Palace, which is a part of the Center.
The expected arrival day is Sunday July 31, 2016 (afternoon), and the departure day is Friday August 5 (afternoon) or Saturday August 6, 2016. The talks start on Monday (morning) and end on Friday (afternoon).
The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. The lecture rooms are equipped with computer projectors, overhead projectors (suitable also for displaying printed paper or handwriting) and blackboards. There is a Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the Center buildings. You can use a reading room, computer rooms, leisure room (table tennis, billiard) and a bar. Note that the Center is located outside the city - for shopping or sightseeing you can go to Poznań (half na hour ride by taxi).
The currency used in Poland is Polish zloty (PLN), check the current rates. Please note that there are no ATMs in the Conference Center.
The weather in Będlewo in summer sunny and warm, with temperature over 70 degrees Fahrenheit (20 Celsius), but you can expect also some rain and chilly days. The Center is located at the edge of the forest and lake area. It is possible to rent a bike at the Center. The nearest lake (Jezioro Dymaczewskie) is some 2 km away.
